ANIOCHA NORTH LGA HOLDS SPECIAL SANITATION EXERCISE

ANILGA3Saddened by the poor sanitary condition of Issele-uku main market at Issele-Uku in Aniocha North Local Government area, the Executive Chairman of the Local Government, Hon Chuks Oseme led officials of the Local government council on massive evacuation of accumulated refuse dump and general cleaning of the Market.
The Chairman was seen clearing the market of debris with rake in conjunction with the treasurer of the Local Government, Comrade Ben Nwajei and the Head of Environmental Health department of the Council, Mr Anthony Chukwudobe, while pal-loader and other heavy duty equipment were seen evacuating accumulated refuse at the market to the local Government designated refuse dump site.
Speaking with newsmen at the market, the Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Hon Chuks Oseme said that the poor sanitary condition of the market cut his attention when he went round the administrative headquarters of the Local Government on assumption of office, saying that he was shocked and saddened by the fact that the market has been taken over by accumulated refuse, thereby endangering the health of the people doing business in the market.
Hon. Oseme said that for the Local government to be able to give the people of the area an effective administration as well as enjoy the dividend of democracy, they should first give the people clean and conducive environment, stressing that without clean environment his administration will not be able to achieve the human capital developmental agenda of the State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan in Aniocha North Local Government area.
The Council boss noted that the Issele-uku main Market is a very strategic and important market promising that the Local Government will do every thing within the limit of its resources to ensure that the market is kept clean and conducive for selling and buying at all times.
Hon Oseme said that his administration will embark on massive sensitization of the people on the urgent need to maintain clean environment, while calling on the people doing business at the Issele-uku main market as well as all the markets in the area to imbibe the culture of maintaining good sanitary condition of the various markets, adding that a good and clean environment will not only boost their trade, but will go a long way in protecting their health.
The Chairman also called on the People of Aniocha North Local Government area not to wait on the prompting of the Government before they will keep their surrounding clean, stressing that they should at all times maintain good sanitary condition, while stating that cleanliness is next to godliness.
He said that apart from special environmental sanitation days to be declared by his administration, the people of the Local Government should brace up to adhere and obey the environmental laws of the state by way of compulsory observing the Monthly environmental sanitation day. He further stated that his administration will ensure it enforcement in the area in its determination to bring about clean and conducive environment for the benefit of all residents.
Some of the market women interviewed expressed their joy on the massive evacuation of the accumulated dump site at the market, while praying that God will give the new administration in the local government the wisdom and enablement to sustain its laudable objectives for the People of Aniocha North Local Government area.
