COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF A MEETING OF NDOKWA PDP ELDERS AND LEADERS AT KWALE ON SUNDAY, 11TH JANUARY 2015

The meeting was presided over by elder statesman, Dr. Godwin Otunuya Iwegbue principally, to review the political developments in Ndokwa nation, arising from the December 8th, 2014 governorship primaries of the PDP in Delta State which produced Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa as the Party’s flag bearer and to decide the way forward for unity, peace and progress of Ndokwa nation, comprising Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West and Ukwuani L.G.As of Delta State.

At the meeting, Ndokwa PDP Elders/Leaders exhaustively deliberated on two recent publications in the Vanguard Newspapers of January 7th and 10th 2015 respectively by;

a) Ndokwa Neku Union, (NNU)

b) Concerned Ndokwa Leaders and Elders and noted that the contents of both publications were not in the best interest of Ndokwa nation, just as their timing were inauspicious.

Tapping copiously from the Ndokwa adage that: “Okei anodi nu uno ewu amua ne’gbu”, the elders therefore called on Ndokwa Neku Union, (NNU) to withdraw the said publication and sanctions contained therein while the Ndokwa people in particular, and the general public should also discountenance the contents of the subsequent rejoining publication by the afore said concerned Ndokwa Leaders and Elders.

The meeting also resolved as follows:

a) DELTA GOVERNOR 2015

Ndokwa PDP Elders and Leaders hereby solicit the understanding of all stakeholders, party chieftains and eligible voters in Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West and Ukwuani L.G.A’s to rally support and vote for PDP’s Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa as the next Governor of Delta State. We cannot afford to miss the golden opportunity of electing this divinely ordained gentleman as the first Governor of Anioma extraction for Delta State.

b) NDOKWA REPRESENTATIVES AT THE NATIONAL AND STATE ASSEMBLY

All Ndokwa people are hereby enjoined to sustain the PDP status of our Federal Constituency by voting:
1. Hon. Ossai N. Ossai for House of Representatives,
2. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi,
3. Hon. Azuka Azaka,
4. Hon. (Dr.) Alphonsus Ojo for Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West and Ukwuani Constituencies, respectively in the Delta State House of Assembly.

The three council chairmen, namely; Hon, (Mrs.) Nkechi Enuma Chukwura, Hon. Ifeanyi Osakwe and Hon. (Barr.) Benedicta Osakuni-Izuegbu, should in turn, lead the way by mobilizing their people for total victory of PDP at the forthcoming general election as well as prove critics wrong by delivering the dividends of democracy at the grassroots.

MAINSTREAMING NDOKWA
Much as we are very proud of the emergence of Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa as the incoming Governor of Delta State, we hereby request for the mainstreaming of Ndokwa in the forth coming administration through the appointment of the next Secretary to the State Government, (SSG) from Ndokwa.
We passionately make this demand believing that as a listening Governor, Dr. Arthur Okowa through this appointment will wipe the tears of Ndokwa people who have been denied other important high profile positions inspite of our oil/gas producing status in the State.
