OKOWA SET FOR DIVINE LANDSLIDE VICTORY IN DELTA

okowaSenator Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, the Delta State PDP Governorship candidate is poised to achieve a landslide victory at the April 11, 2015 governorship elections in the state.

Results of 11 out of the 25 Local Government Areas released so far by the Delta State INEC and supervised by the state returning officer Prof. Bio Nyananyo, shows that the PDP is leading with a very comfortable margin in 10 LGA’s namely: Ethiope West, Sapele, Oshimili South, Oshimili North, Bomadi, Isoko North, Isoko South, Okpe, Ika North East, Patani.

His closest challenger, Chief Great Ogboru of the Labour Party has so far captured Udu LGA, the All Progressive Congress Candidate O’tega Emerhor has not won any LGA yet.

A mild drama however ensued at the INEC collation center, Asaba when the Labour Party agent and younger brother to the LP Candidate, Mr. Turner Ogboru, who had earlier contested the result from Ika North East, also challenged the results from Oshimili South and Isoko South, claiming that the number of voters announced by the returning officers in those LGA’s was more than the number of accredited voters as recorded by the card reader.

In a hot verbal exchange between him and the state returning officer, Ogboru claimed that there had been alleged irregularities in those LGA’s in favour of the PDP and demanded that the results be cancelled. He then submitted a petition to support his claims.

However, two other party agents, Frank Igwebuike of the PDM and David Ashikodi of the Accord Party debunked the claims of rigging by the Labour party and affirmed that the elections, especially in Ika North East were free and fair and while their Governorship candidates lost in the LGA, they were satisfied with the results as declared by the returning officers and received by INEC.

Responding, the Delta State REC Aniedi Ikoiwak told Mr. Ogboru that all the results had already been collated with the Card readers at the various ward levels in the LGA’s before being forwarded to the Headquarters in Asaba, so the issue of the card reader had already been addressed and was no longer necessary at this stage.

Delta state has 25 LGA’s and INEC has so far officially declared the results in 11 of the LGA’s. 14 more LGA’s are still being awaited and from feelers reaching Flashpointnews Online from our very reliable and credible sources on the fields, Senator Ifeayi Okowa of the PDP, is poised to win handsomely in the remaining LGA’s and is on the verge of achieving a landslide divine victory when all the results have been declared.
