Delta State Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, has reiterated his call on all Deltans to avail themselves of the on-going public hearing on the DESOPADEC amendment bill in order to enhance positively on the prosperity agenda.
Barr. Otuaro who fielded questions from newsmen during the reception party of the thanksgiving service by Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi, member representing Burutu Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, in Warri, noted that the amendment bill sent to the state house by the State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa some weeks ago is aimed at strengthening the management procedures of the commission.
According to him, the purpose of that bill was basically to restructure the commission in line with what is obtainable in NDDC. It is meant to ensure managerial stability of the commission, to ensure that the management of the commission live up to its expectations in terms of quality staffing.
The deputy governor reaffirms the governor’s position that the bill is not ill intended and motivated as insinuated in some parts of the states. “I want to say once again that the DESOPADEC amendment bill sent to the house is for the benefits to the state and all Deltans. There is an on-going public hearing in relation to the DESOPADEC amendment bill and as a people oriented goverment, I want to reassure all Deltans that the Governor Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and government of Delta State take serious cognisance of the opinion of the people and Deltans should avail themselves the opportunity of the public hearing to make their various inputs that will bring out the very best of the amendments bill when it becomes law. So that together we will be able to deliver our prosperity to all Deltans through the various institutions of government”. Barr Otuaro said.
The state deputy Governor described Julius Pondi as one that is focused, a man who is determined to actualised his set out goals of the people. He enjoined the people of Burutu to give Hon. Pondi the needed support to enable him deliver on his promise to them.
Barr. Kingsley Otuaro used the occasion to thanked the people for voting and believing in the Dr. Okowa’s led administration. He said as sons & daughters of God they will always make progress in governance, noting that according to scripture they are the light of the word that will dominate the world.
The member representing Burutu federal constituency, Hon Julius Pondi led top government functionaries to the alter for his thanksgiving saying God alone gave him victory at polls.
