The Delta State Commissioner for Information Mr. Patrick Ukah has described the victory of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa at the Supreme Court as a victory for all Deltans, irrespective of political leanings.
Mr. Ukah advised Deltans especially Great Ogboru and Hon Otega Emerhor to close ranks and join hands with the State Governor, for the development of the State, stressing that now that the Supreme Court has given the final judgment in favour of Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, all hands must be on deck to enable the Governor achieve his vision of prosperity for all Deltans.
According to him, now that the court cases have been concluded; the Governor will no longer be distracted and will pursue his resolve for the development of the State with renewed vigour.
He congratulated the Governor, His Excellency Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa on his victory at the Supreme Court, even as he described the judgement as courageous, adding that the Judiciary has again demonstrated that it is an epitome of truth, justice, fair play and the last hope of the common man.
SUPREME COURT JUDGEMENT: A PROOF OF GOD’S LOVE FOR DELTANS- Ochor
Speaking in the same vein, the Executive Director, Social Services Development, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, (DESOPADEC), Hon. Ochor Chris Ochor, has described the judgment by the Supreme Court in Abuja on the 2015 Delta State Governorship election, upholding the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), and Senator, Ifeanyi Okowa as the Governor of Delta state, as a proof of God’s love for the state.
Ochor, who reacted to the Supreme Court judgment in a statement made available to the media, reminded Deltans that the election victory by Governor Okowa is not a victory by man, but was that of God, as in all the stages of the electoral cases, God continued to prove to all Deltans, especially the opposition that Okowa is his chosen candidate for the Governorship position, and he had shown it with this verdict as a full proof of his love, as he puts it.
“It is a proof of God’s love for Deltans, and an evidence of Dr. Okowa’s genuine desire to govern the state”, he said, adding that with this victory, every man-made obstacle that will disturb the plans of the governor in carrying out his developmental agenda has been removed and the success of his SMART agenda and Prosperity for All Deltans can now be assured.
“Let all Deltans come out and Thank God for the victory”, he urged.
Hon Ochor further called on the political opposition in the state to join the governor and the PDP in the development of the state, as the state belongs to all, irrespective of the different party interests.
“Delta state belongs to us all. The election was a contest. And a winner must emerge, the legal cases had been settled, and we as Deltans must move ahead, and in moving ahead we must be united with one purpose irrespective of our party”. He concluded.
