Delta State Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro has called on political Leaders in Gbaramatu Kingdom to be fair, just and equitable in nominating leaders that will represent them in the forthcoming Ward Congress of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Barr. Otuaro gave the charge when he hosted stakeholders, as well as notable Sons and daughters of PDP from Gbaramatu and Oporoza wards respectively, in the Warri South west LGA, at his Official residence in Warri, Delta State, on Sunday 3rd April, 2016.
In a Statement issued and signed by his Senior Special Assistant on media, Doris Warri Aboh, the Delta Deputy Governor harped on the need for proper consultation among stakeholders of the Party in the various Wards, to ensure an all inclusive participation, even as he stressed that the era of Impunity which was displayed by some Party Leaders in the past, would no longer be tolerated.
He noted that this appeal for equity and fairness in the selection of leaders was based on the resolution from the PDP National Secretariat, which directed party members and structures at all levels to maintain best practices and conduct their congresses with transparency and accountability in order to foster unity amongst party faithful, in the task of rebuilding the PDP.
Barr. Otuaro, who was flanked by the Special Adviser to Governor Okowa on Petroleum matters, Barr. Bosin Ebikeme, then thanked the party members for their prompt response to his call and expressed his profound gratitude to them on behalf of Governor Okowa, for their selfless and commendable participation during the April 11, 2015 Governorship Election that culminated in the Okowa and Otuaro landslide victory at the poll.
Responding on behalf of the PDP leaders, Mr. Wellington Uduboh, Chairman of Kurutie Community under Gbaramatu ward, thanked the Deputy Governor for hosting Gbaramatu Sons and daughters and promised to convey the message for a just and fair dispensation of party politics at the various ward levels to the party members and leaders at the wards.
Eminent Gbaramatu leaders and statesmen present at the meeting included Hon. George Ekpemupolo, Chairman, Warri South west LGA, Chief Godspower Gbenekama, Chief Mobilizer of Gbaramatu Kingdom and Comrade Sheriff Mulade.
Also presents at the meeting were Councilors representing Oporoza and Gbaramatu wards, Community Chairmen, Elders, as well as Women and Youths from the Kingdom.
