All progressives Congress APC, party, Chief Hyacinth Enuha, which criticized the performance of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state in the last one year, dismissing them as the rant of a failed politician, who is out of touch with the present realities on ground both in Delta state and nationally.
This scathing response to the criticism of Governor Okowa’s performance was delivered by the Delta State PDP publicity Secretary, Mr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, who described Chief Enuha as a political liability both in the Delta North political constituency where he belongs and indeed to the All Progressives Congress, APC, stressing that such criticism of Governor Okowa’s excellent performance in the last one year, is not only absurd and laughable, but a sorry attempt by a relevance-seeking old politician, who has lost his political bearings and taken criticism to the extremes.
Mr. Osuoza recalled that Chief Enuha was a former PDP member in Delta state, who had tried unsuccessfully to hijack the political structure and stifle the emergence of a more vibrant and progressive political vision in his constituency, only to be disgraced out of contention after his failure to consume the political will of his constituents with his ego-centric greed for domination, autocracy and dictatorial tendencies, ended in monumental humiliation and compelled him to seek relevance under various other doomed platforms, including the Republican Party of Nigeria, RPN and now the All Progressives Congress, APC, where his attempts to foist his negative political imprimatur on the electoral landscape has continued to fail.
The Delta State PDP Publicity Secretary, who was quick to emphasize that the PDP is not averse to constructive criticism based on empirical facts, from any source, noted that even Governor Ifeanyi Okowa himself has openly encouraged and invited such criticisms as pointers to assess the efforts of his governance and spur the administration to even greater commitment towards delivering more dividends of democracy and ensuring prosperity for all Deltans, as pledged.
He however asserted that such hollow and shallow attempts, like that of Chief Hyacinth Enuha, to criticize the performance of Governor Okowa’s courageous and visionary leadership in the last one year, flies in the face of reason, especially given the fact that the despite the very harsh economic realities in the country presently, the Okowa administration has not only initiated and empowered over 17, 000 Deltans so far through its practical job creation programmes like the YAGEP, STEP, PPSP, the Micro-credit scheme for small and medium enterprises, amongst others, but has equally embarked on providing enduring infrastructural facilities as manifested in the completion and massive commissioning of life impacting projects across the three senatorial zones, in the last one year, in fulfillment of its deep commitment and unshakable resolve to improve lives and ensure prosperity for all Deltans.
Speaking further, the Delta PDP spokesman noted that in addition to steering the ship of state calmly against the troubled waters of national financial crunch, Governor Okowa, contrary to the assertions of Chief Enuha, has remained faithful to the civil servants in the state and paid workers salaries regularly, asserting that Delta State under the astute administration of Governor Okowa, remains one of the few states in the federation, which has continued to miraculously meet and address its statutory obligation to civil servants in the state, in these very hard times, to the surprise and admiration of all and sundry.
While dismissing Chief Enuha’s criticism as baseless and unfortunate, Osuoza affirmed that the PDP is solidly on ground in Delta State and the new executive of the party under the dynamic leadership of Olorogun, (Barr.) Kingsley Esiso, is now even more motivated to take the party to greater heights, and has been buoyed by the excellent performance of the Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa in the last one year, adding that the recent defections of some so-called high profile politicians whom Chief Enuha referred to in his comments, has not only galvanized the PDP and enhanced a greater sense of unity, harmony and togetherness amongst party members, but has set the agenda for the party to comprehensively defeat these spent forces and their platforms once and for all and consolidate the domination of the political space by the PDP in the in Delta state and nationally in future elections
