In his own comments, the host of the meeting, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, noted that as the ruling party in the state and the only viable political party on ground, the need to recognize the fact that Governor Okowa was of Delta North extraction and so must be given maximum support by his own political constituency was imperative and the meeting had been convened by his brothers and sisters, especially the elected office holders and political appointees, to explore ways of translating their support into action and re-dedicate themselves to tackling the challenge of ensuring the success of the Okowa administration and the PDP in the state.
Senator Nwaoboshi, who affirmed that the meeting was also in line with the resolution of the Delta North PDP to meet regularly, following the ground breaking inaugural stakeholders banquet and interactive session held in Agbor, in June, affirmed that the Delta North PDP, mindful of its enviable position as the arm of the party that produced the incumbent governor, was well poised to give Governor Ifeanyi Okowa maximum support throughout his tenure, even as he enjoined PDP faithful to continue to be dedicated, loyal and committed to the tenets of the party and urged Deltans to support the Okowa administration, assuring that the PDP would soon put an end to the harsh economic condition which the present All Progressives Congress, APC has plunged Nigeria into, with its vision-less and negative policies.
