HOW DELTA SPENT N10Bn PARIS CLUB ALLOCATION (Breakdown by Patrick Ukah, Delta State Commissioner for Information)

Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah has given a comprehensive breakdown of how the Delta state government disbursed the N10billion Paris Club refund allocation released to the state by the Federal Government.

The breakdown which was itemized in an official document issued by the Delta State Ministry of Information, Asaba, titled: BRIEF ON UTILIZATION OF N10 BILLION REFUND TO DELTA STATE OF 3RD TRANCHE EXCESS DEDUCTION OF FOREIGN DEBTS SERVICING BY FEDERAL GOVERNMENT and signed by Mr. Ukah, reveals that a statutory Allocation to Local Government Councils in the state, for payment of outstanding salary arreas, amounting to N2, 125, 814, 393. 30 (Two Billion, One hundred and Twenty five million, Eight hundred and fourteen thousand, There hundred and ninety three Naira, thirty kobo only) had already been factored into the refund package by the Federal Government.

The remaining N7, 074, 185, 606. 70 (Seven Billion and Seventy four million, One hundred and Eighty five thousand, Six hundred and six Naira, Seventy kobo only) accruing to the State government was disbursed on allocation subheads like: Deduction to Cooperatives, Augmentation of July salaries, Part payment of outstanding arrears for contributory pension scheme, additional support to LGAs, as well as on other capital and recurrent expenditures.
